Description
Six Years Extra Añejo
The Reserva de Don Adolfo Extra Añejo is aged for 6 years in oak barrels. Our newest product, this is a new classification of tequila.
This sipping tequila is described as a "cognac-like" spirit.
It has a beautiful rich gold color with a thick body. The aromas are dominated by cinnamon, herbs, and spices. Very robust on the palate, it has a bold and vibrant complexity. A long sweet, spicy, exotic fruit finish is best savored slowly.

This tequila tastes like pink grapefruit with a dash of nutmeg . Just slightly better than Cuervo Gold => yuck

Alquimia Extra Anejo 6 yr
Very smooth. Love the flavor and the aroma. This is my 3rd favorite Tequila behind Tears of Llorona and Don Julio 1942. I told the gentleman at Old Town Tequila that Tears was my favorite and he said I would like this. They don't taste anything alike, but he was right, I really like Alquimia.

Good but not great. The bouquet has hints of cinnamon, has a nice sweet finish.

Quality exist in California.
It is hard to describe this caramel, smoky wonder of a spirit. I will just say superb. My favorite by far.

Alquimia Extra Anejo
This is my first exploration into the Alquimia distillery. I had heard good things re the organic and the care, etc. I ended up with the top end first. My initial experience is that this is a good tequila - easy to drink - VERY clean... HOWEVER, it greatly suffers by being so watered down. Frankly, from a scotch drink used to cask strength (I will do my own watering down, thank-you very much...:-) ), the negative impact of too much water was really clear. I would love to see an expression this - or even perhaps a bit younger if they are using new wood - at cask strength.... It would be worth the extra $20 - 30 for sure. I look forward to updating my review as this opens up. BTW - this is still a very good tequila - and probably worth 4 stars - BUT I wanted consumers to be aware - and, ultimately, perhaps persuade Alquimia for either Cask Strength - OR at least something in the 48 - 50 ABV level to strengthen the quality of the taste profile. BTW - it is still $100 - so not cheap...

Nothing special about this bottle. Spend your $100 elsewhere.
