Fort Single Barrels 80 & 87 Proof (2 bottles)

I was lucky to get the Fortaleza reposado single barrel set after watching the online barrel pick. Being a fan of Fortaleza I was excited to try these. I opened the Cask Strength (43% abv) the night of pickup. My observations were as follows I did not pick up much of oak or a string alcohol presence in the nose. It was more of a fresh watet and earthiness. Upon tasting it I was pleased. Fresh agave and caramel notes coated my mouth nicely. I could pick up more barrel notes as the tequila sat in the glass. The finish was very nice. I did not get much of the normal olive brine notes but was very happy with this. I would have have it a 5 if it was aged just a little longer but very enjoyable Thank you Old Town and Guillermo Sauza Erickson!

Off the bat, the 87 proof was eye opening and the 80 was good. Give it a few mins to open up; hands down, the 87 proof was the BEST!
