Nicho Real 5 Years Extra Anejo Tequila

Nicho Real 5 Year Extra Anejo is is another tequila for a tequila sippers bar. It’s not the best but slides into it’s price point pretty well. I like it on occasion, not every day. Sips pretty smooth, not hot and not sweet. Try it and you’ll like it unless you prefer the sweet stuff.

I first had this in 2019 - a local Mexican market had a few dusty black bottles so I picked them up and was very impressed. Most X-anejos are too sweet for me, but this was well balanced and instantly became one of my favorite tequilas. Why just 4 stars then? The bottle I just received (2/2021) is clear, not black, and it's not as good as I recall. Less balanced - a little sharp for an anejo - and I'm wondering if something has changed beside just the bottle? It's still not bad, but it's no longer a 5-star tequila.

This is an incredibly good tequila at a very reasonable price. It is very smooth and has a touch of sweetness to it. On the rocks is how I drink it. Buy it.

I lost a couple of shots when I opened it because the cap was stuck in the styrofoam when I tried to pull it apart. If you are going to sell liquor for this amount, please provide instructions on how to open it without spilling it!

very good with taste of Vanilla - perfect balanced and well made. smooth with a light agave and complex - I would buy more forsure !
