SOLID, BUT NOT OUTSTANDING
As far as blancos in this price range goes, this expression is middle-of-the-road for me. Compared with the Cascahuin Tahona or the Fortaleza Still Strength, the Solento seemed muted on all dimensions. Don't get me wrong, this expression is clean, crisp and you can find the flavors. But you have to hunt for them and the cooked agave flavors comes after some spices. The nose starts well, with fruit and spices (pepper and cinnamon for me) with agave after that. Taste is the same. The agave will hit, but you have to be patient and look for it. Then, it all fades pretty fast.
