This was recommended to me on a visit to Guadalajara, and has become my favorite blanco. Very much worth a try.

Very nice, easy to sip tequila. But it was a little too smooth. Mixed nicely as well but there equivalent choices at lower price levels for that use.

Plenty of true agave flavor and quite smooth. Great mixed, but awesome neat or on the rocks.

A classic blanco from a master distiller and a legacy distillery.

Tapatio blanco was for many years an only in Mexico brand. In 2012 the folks at Charbay distillery in N. California became importers for the spirit and we now have a steady stream of this great tequila entering the USA. Although this comes from the same distillery as El Tesoro de Don Felipe, it has several notable differences from El Tesoro. The agave for this tequila is crushed via a roller mill and not a tahona, it is fermented with the agave fiber, and unlike El Tesoro blanco which is bottled within 24 hours of distillation, Tapatio is placed into large stainless steel tanks and allowed to rest for 30 days which allows for flavors to develop prior to bottling in 1 liter bottles. This has a velvety feel in the mouth and is a bit softer on the palate from the resting than the El Tesoro. I get fennel and some white pepper along with large amounts of roast agave that fade to a lingering natural sweetness. Highly recommended and as authentic as blanco tequila can be that isn't made with a tahona.
